Radiofrequency Microneedling

What is Radiofrequency Microneedling?

Radiofrequency microneedling is a safe and effective treatment for facial aging. It uses tiny needles and radiofrequency waves to rejuvenate facial skin. It can target acne scars and early signs of aging, like fine lines and sagging skin. It’s also effective for hyperhidrosis.

How does it work?

Gold coated microneedles pierce the skin and deliver precisely controlled Radiofrequency energy deep into the dermis. This then stimulates a healing response from the body which encourages collagen and elastin formation. Blood flow is also stimulated which increases oxygenation as a result of the healing process.

This has the added benefit of removing toxins and bringing more of the good inflammatory components to the skin. As a result the skin is plumper, tightened and lifted, fine lines and wrinkles are reduced and skin texture is visibly improved.

How many sessions will I need?

A treatment course usually includes 3 sessions – one every 4-5 weeks.

Does it hurt?

Topical numbing cream is applied prior to the procedure. There is a slight scratching sensation that some people find uncomfortable but tolerable. Patient’s are able to continue with their normal activities immediately after treatment.

Are there any side effects?

There will be some redness and small visible needle marks upon the skin following treatment – this will subside in 1-4 days. Patients are able to wear makeup after 24 hours if they need to cover up the redness. A small percentage of patients may have some slight swelling, tingling and tenderness to touch. These are mild and temporary.
